• Gallery Les Bois is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to representing artists whose practices explore sustainability, stewardship, and humanity's relationship with the world around us. We believe that art has an important role to play in shaping how we think about the future. Through painting, sculpture, textiles, and mixed-media practice, our artists engage with some of the most relevant conversations of our time, environmental responsibility, material innovation, craftsmanship, biodiversity, cultural continuity, and human connection. Rather than viewing sustainability as a single issue, we embrace it as a broader philosophy. For some artists, this means developing new materials, reclaiming waste streams, or working with renewable resources. For others, it means preserving traditional skills, celebrating craftsmanship, exploring ecological systems, or encouraging deeper appreciation of the natural world. What unites our artists is not a shared aesthetic, but a shared commitment to thoughtful practice. From environmental innovators and material pioneers to painters, sculptors, and storytellers, each artist represented by Gallery Les Bois offers a unique perspective on what sustainability can mean in contemporary life.

    Our Philosophy
We believe that meaningful art begins with authenticity. The artists we represent are selected not only for the quality of their work, but for the integrity of their practice and the relevance of the ideas they explore. Sustainability is not applied as a marketing narrative; it emerges naturally through the materials, methods, research, and values that underpin each artist's work. Through these diverse perspectives, Gallery Les Bois seeks to foster greater awareness of the connections between people, place, nature, and culture. We are interested in art that endures. Art that rewards repeated engagement. Art that encourages reflection. Art that contributes positively to the conversations shaping our future.

    Stewardship Through Collecting
At Gallery Les Bois, we view collecting as an act of stewardship. Every artwork carries a story, of materials, ideas, craftsmanship, and creative vision. By supporting contemporary artists whose practices contribute to environmental, cultural, and social sustainability, collectors become part of a wider movement that values creativity, responsibility, and long-term thinking. Whether acquiring a first artwork or building a significant collection, our aim is to help collectors discover works that resonate personally while contributing to a meaningful and lasting legacy.

    A Curated Approach
Based in the United Kingdom and working with collectors internationally, Gallery Les Bois offers a carefully curated programme of contemporary artists whose practices reflect the values of sustainability, excellence, and innovation. Our artists explore sustainability through many different lenses:
    • Environmental restoration and scientific innovation
    • Sustainable materials and circular practices
    • Ecological awareness and biodiversity
    • Craftsmanship and cultural continuity
    • Identity, memory, and human connection
Together, they demonstrate that sustainability is not a limitation on creativity, it is a catalyst for it.

    Our Vision
To be the leading destination for contemporary sustainable art, connecting collectors with artists whose work contributes to a more thoughtful, connected, and sustainable future.

  • DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER, Claire-Julia Hill

    DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER

    Claire-Julia Hill
Gallery Les Bois was founded by Claire-Julia Hill, a passionate advocate for sustainability in the arts. Nominated as a finalist for the National Green Growth Awards, the gallery is leading a bold new wave in the art world. While studying art history at Cambridge, Claire-Julia kept coming back to the sense that something was missing in the art world—a space that brought sustainability and ethics into focus without losing the excitement and depth of contemporary art. That realization eventually became the seed for Gallery Les Bois.
Driven by a vision to create a gallery that felt both thoughtful and forward-looking, Claire-Julia launched the gallery with the mission to make environmental responsibility not just a theme, but a foundation. At 26, she took the leap, believing that sustainable art could be beautiful, challenging, and collectible all at once. Since then, Claire-Julia has been continually inspired by artists and the collectors who share this vision, creating a truly collaborative effort to shape a more conscious and sustainable art world.
At Gallery Les Bois, we ensure sustainability is integrated into both the artwork we showcase and the gallery's operations, including carbon tracking and mindful shipping practices. We’re demonstrating that sustainability, creativity, and excellence are essential for the future of art. We invite you to join us at the forefront of this exciting revolution, where art and responsibility go hand in hand.
