Into the Blue: Exploring the Many Dimensions of Water Through Contemporary Art

Gallery Les Bois is delighted to present Into the Blue, a group exhibition featuring works by Caitlin Heffernan, Michelle Gagliano and Miranda Carter. Running from 4 June to 28 June at our showroom within World's End Studios, the exhibition brings together three distinctive artistic voices connected by a shared fascination with water, landscape and our relationship with the natural world.

 

Water has long occupied a central place within artistic practice. It is both subject and symbol: a source of life, a force of change and a powerful reminder of humanity's connection to the wider environment. In Into the Blue, these themes are explored through a diverse collection of works that invite reflection on the beauty, fragility and enduring significance of the world's oceans, rivers and waterways.

Each artist approaches the theme from a unique perspective. Caitlin Heffernan's evocative works capture the movement and energy of water through layered compositions that balance abstraction with a strong sense of place. Her practice reflects a deep engagement with natural environments, creating paintings that encourage viewers to pause and consider the landscapes that inspire them.

 

Michelle Gagliano's contribution brings another dimension to the exhibition, exploring the emotional and sensory qualities of water. Miranda Carter's paintings complete the dialogue by examining the relationship between nature, atmosphere and environmental awareness.
